Kalshi in 3 minutes
Kalshi is a US exchange, regulated by the CFTC, where you buy “Yes” or “No” on outcomes like a team winning. A contract pays $1 if you're right and $0 if not, so the price is the market's guess at the chance: 47¢ means about 47%. Spot Angle tells you when that price is lower than it should be.
- 1
Check it works where you live
Kalshi is available in most US states, but a few states restrict sports contracts and the list changes. Kalshi tells you during sign-up if your state is limited. You need to be 18+ (21+ in some states).
- 2
Open an account
Sign up on Kalshi with your email. Because Kalshi is a regulated exchange, it asks for your legal name, address and the last digits of your SSN to verify you, like a brokerage would. It usually takes a few minutes.
- 3
Add money
Deposit from your bank or a debit card. Check Kalshi's help center for current options, limits and any fees. Start with an amount you're fine losing; we suggest setting it as your bankroll on Spot Angle so we size bets for you.
- 4
Find the game from Spot Angle
On Today or the board, tap the green price button (“47¢ on Kalshi ↗”). It opens that exact game on Kalshi, so you don't have to search.
- 5
Buy Yes at that price or less
Each team has a Yes contract that pays $1 if they win. Choose the team, choose Yes, and set a limit price no higher than the price Spot Angle showed. A limit order never fills above your price, so you never pay more than the discount was worth. Enter the dollar amount from our Stake.
- 6
Log it on Spot Angle
Tap I bought this (or turn on Kalshi auto-import in the Tracker). We grade it after the game and show whether you beat the closing price, the best sign you're betting well.
- 7
Hold, or sell early
You don't have to wait for the final score. You can sell your contracts any time before the game ends to whoever is bidding. Spot Angle shows how much you can sell right now, and at what price, on your open trades.
What it costs
Kalshi charges a small fee per contract, highest near 50¢ (about 1.75¢ there) and smaller near 0¢ or $1. Every price and gap on Spot Angle already includes it.
Common beginner mistakes
- Buying at the market price after it already moved up
- Betting more than the suggested stake
- Chasing losses on the next game
